Seasonal Classes

At The Responsible Dog, we love celebrating the seasons, and we believe training should feel just as fresh and joyful as the world around us. Our seasonal classes pop up throughout the year as short, themed training adventures created to bring fun, build real-life skills, and deepen your connection with your dog while enjoying a little seasonal magic.

You might find holiday-inspired nosework missions, cozy winter manners refreshers, springtime confidence builders, summertime adventure skills, or a back-to-school obedience boost. Each class blends play, enrichment, and solid training foundations. These are perfect for anyone who wants to add variety to their dog’s routine, explore a new training challenge, or keep momentum going between our core programs.

Come learn, laugh, and make memories with your dog. Every season is a chance to grow together, and we are here to make it special.

Limited sessions. Big fun. Fresh themes.

Summer of Self-Control

Turn up the distractions and build your dog's patience this summer!

Join us for Summer of Self-Control, a 4-week specialty class dedicated entirely to teaching and strengthening your dog's stay and place behaviors. Through fun, summer-themed activities and training challenges, your dog will learn to remain calm, focused, and reliable even when exciting things are happening around them.

Each week, we'll introduce new games, distractions, and real-world scenarios designed to help your dog develop impulse control, confidence, and the ability to settle when asked. Whether you're hoping for peaceful patio outings, calmer family gatherings, or simply better manners at home, a solid stay is one of the most valuable skills your dog can learn.

In this class, we'll focus on:

  • Building duration, distance, and distraction resistance

  • Strengthening place and stay behaviors

  • Developing patience and impulse control

  • Teaching your dog to relax around exciting environments

  • Creating reliable real-life manners for summer adventures

From beach balls and lawn games to picnic-themed challenges, we'll make learning fun while helping your dog master the art of doing nothing.

Prerequisite: Beginner Obedience or an equivalent class. Dogs should be comfortable working in a group class environment and have a basic understanding of sit and down.

Because sometimes the hardest thing a dog can do is absolutely nothing! ☀️🏖️🐕
